1. Teacher will intro Nearpod and give students the code for access on their app.
2. Teacher will have students predict what we are learning based on the first picture on the slide. Use what they know about their world.
3. Teacher will show first video on the Northwest Tree Ocotpus
4. Teacher will have students discuss questions about the video and what doesn’t look right and what does in small group. We will solicit ideas on white board.
5. Teacher will then go to the website slide- discuss guiding questions, and the let students, in small group, explore the site and be prepared to compare/contrast false information and true information, and provide evidence form the website for their thoughts. Follow up discussion and results posted on white board.
6. Teacher will then post video explaining the above. Exit Nearpod
7. Socrative 5 question quiz on “How did you know?”
8. Website- https://www.trullyzoofacts.com
9. Using evernote, take some information down comparing good information/bad information from above site.
10. Discussion will highlight specific questions that we need to ask when we approach a website. Use: http://olinuris.library.cornell.edu/ref/research/webcrit.html
11. Teacher will have students collaboratively log onto: https://www.dogisland.com
Students will once again discuss website on credibility given from above
12. Students will access Edmodo and download the PDF quiz- to opened on Type on PDF
13. PDF Assessment and site: http://www.dhmo.org. Students complete and reupload to Edmodo
14. ***All other links will be on Edmodo for the websites/videos beyond Nearpod.
