My name is Kelli Hixon, and I have enjoyed teaching at the elementary level for eighteen years. My first eight years were spent at Twain in the early elementary teaching first grade. I then switched gears and became a Title I Intervention Specialist at Emerson for three years working with grades K-6. My next teaching adventures were spent at Disney in the upper elementary teaching fifth and then fourth grades. I am now enjoying my exciting new role as the 21st Century Literacy Teacher/Coach at Disney. I feel blessed to have a career I love that challenges me to learn and grow each and every day.
My greatest accomplishments, however, are my two beautiful daughters, Kaitlyn and Amelia. Kaitlyn is nineteen and is a sophomore at Mississippi State University. Amelia is soon to be six and is a first grader at my school, Disney Elementary. My husband Geoff and I have been married almost ten years, and I couldn't be happier with the life we've created together. We love to spend time traveling as a family, whether it be spending time visiting Kaitlyn in Starkville, MS, going to my Nana's cottage up north in Caseville, or going on family vacations. Geoff and I spend most of our time with our girls and extended family, but we also love to spend time together playing volleyball (which is how we met), scuba diving (we just completed our open water certification this summer), and remodeling our house and my Nana's cottage. It's a wonderful life!
